Chamwino Districtis one of the seven districts of theDodoma RegionofTanzania.It is bordered to the north byChemba District,to the east byManyara Region,Kongwa DistrictandMpwapwa District,to the south byIringa Region,and to the west bySingida Region,Bahi DistrictandDodoma District.Its administrative seat is the town ofChamwino.

According to the 2012 Tanzania National Census, the population of Chamwino District was 330,543.[1]By 2022, the population of the district had grown to 486,176.[2]

Paved trunk road T3 fromMorogorotoDodomaand paved trunk road T5 fromDodomatoIringapass through the district.[3]

The central railway of Tanzania passes through Chamwino District as well.[4] The new Standard Gauge Railway passes through and there is a passenger station nearly completed in early 2023 at Igandu.[5]
