Chance Allen Wenglewski(born April 9, 1997) is arugby unionplayer who plays atpropforRugby New YorkofMajor League Rugby(MLR) and theUnited States men's national team.

He previously played forLindenwood University.Wenglewski has also played for theUSA Selectsand multiple age-grade sides representing the United States. He is married to wife, Mariah Wenglewski. Though he has no children, he has a white lab, Betsy.

Early life[edit]

Wenglewski was born on April 9, 1997, inTulsa, Oklahoma.[1]Wenglewski attendedUnion High Schoolin Tulsa, where he playedfootball.[2]As of 2018,Wenglewski attendsLindenwood Universitywhere he has been a member of theLindenwood Lions men's rugby team.[3]

International career[edit]

USA Junior All-Americans[edit]

Wenglewski was first named to theUnited States national under-20 rugby union team(Junior All-Americans) ahead of two qualification matches for the2016 World Rugby Under 20 TrophyagainstCanada.[4]Upon the Junior All-Americans qualification for the tournament, Wenglewski also played for the team there inHarare, Zimbabwe.[5]Wenglewski also played for the Junior All-Americans in qualification matches for the2017 World Rugby Under 20 Trophy.[6]

USA Collegiate All-Americans[edit]

Wenglewski represented the United States, playing for theMen's Collegiate All-Americans' (MCAAs) in a September 2017 match againstOxford University.[7]

USA Selects[edit]

Wenglewski was first named to the roster for the USA Selects in advance of the2016 Americas Pacific Challenge.[8]Wenglewski also represented the Selects at theAmericas Pacific Challengein2017[9]and2018.[10]

USA Eagles[edit]

Wenglewski was first named to the roster for the USA Eagles for the2018 Americas Rugby Championship,[11]but he did not make an appearance during the competition. Wenglewski again was named to the Eagles' roster in October 2018, replacing an injuredOlive Kilifiahead of the2018 end-of-year tests.[12]Wenglewski made his debut for the Eagles on November 3, 2018, starting at prop, in anuncappedmatch against theMāori All Blacks—a 59–22 defeat.[13]Wenglewski earned his first cap with the Eagles on November 24, 2018, appearing as a substitute, in the Eagles' 57–14 defeat toIreland.[14]
