Chodel[ˈxɔdɛl]is avillageinOpole Lubelskie County,Lublin Voivodeship,in eastern Poland. It is the seat of thegmina(administrative district) calledGmina Chodel.It lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) east ofOpole Lubelskieand 35 km (22 mi) south-west of the regional capitalLublin.[1]

During theHolocaust,the Jewish population of the town—numbering 750 to 950 Jews—was murdered.

The village has a current population of 1,400.
