Charles E. Paganois the executive vice president of technology andchief technology officerofESPN.He was promoted to this position in 2011 from his previous position as executive vice president of technology, engineering and operations[1][2]and retained that position during ESPN's January 2012 executive restructuring.[3]

Pagano has been with ESPN since before it began broadcasting,[4]having joined as a technical director in 1979.[2][5]He held a variety of technical positions and became head of ESPN's new technology division in 2005.[6]Pagano has been credited with important roles in the building of ESPN's production facilities inLos Angeles(the first1080pHD facility in the world) andBristol, Connecticut,[5]ESPN's move tohigh-definition television,and the development ofESPN 3D,the first3D televisionnetwork in the U.S.[1][7]He was named to theSporting News"Power 100" list in 2003 and 2006.[6][8]

A native ofWaterbury, Connecticut,[9]Pagano received aBachelor of Sciencedegree inelectrical engineeringin 1984, and aMaster of Sciencedegree inorganizational psychologyin 2007, both from theUniversity of Hartford[2]and also studiesastronomyin the Graduate Liberal Studies Program atWesleyan University.[4]
