Manuel Jesús Vázquez Florido(born 25 January 1991), known asChuli,is a Spanish professionalfootballerwho plays as astrikerforOrihuela.
He spent most of his career in theSegunda División,totalling 163 games and 39 goals for seven clubs, mainlyRecreativoandAlmería.He also played 11La Ligamatches forBetis.
Club career

[edit]Born inHuelva,Andalusia,Chuli spenthis first yearas a senior withRCD Espanyol'sB team,appearing sparingly and suffering relegation fromSegunda División B.On 22 January 2011 he scored his first goal as a senior, in a 4–0 home win overCF Ampostain theTercera División.[1]He signed forRecreativo de Huelvathat summer, initially being assigned tothe reservesalso in the fourth division; he first played officially with the main squad on 16 May 2012, againstCórdoba CF.[2]
Chuli was promoted to the first team in2012–13after scoring 22 goals with the B's the previous season,[3]featuring in the first game of the campaign againstXerez CD.[4]On 8 September, he netted twice and won apenaltyin the 3–2 home victory overReal Murcia.[5]
Chuli continued with his form on 6 October 2012, scoring ahat-trickin a 4–2 home defeat ofAD Alcorcón;one of the goals was Recreativo's 1,500th in theSegunda División.[6]He finished the season with 15 goals (in the league and overall), helping the oldest club in Spain easily avoid relegation.[7]
Betis
[edit]On 8 May 2013, Chuli joined neighbouringReal Betison a four-year contract, for a fee of€600,000.[8]He made hisLa Ligadebut on 25 August by playing roughly 30 minutes in a 1–2 home loss againstRC Celta de Vigo,[9]and scored his first goal for his new club on 7 November, again coming as a second-halfsubstitutein a 1–0 victory atVitória S.C.inthe group stageof theUEFA Europa League.[10]
On 1 September 2014, Chuli was supposed to move on loan toReal Zaragozain aseason-long deal,[11]but nothing came of it.[12]On 7 January 2015, he was loaned toCD Leganésuntil June.[13]
Almería
[edit]On 9 July 2015, Chuli signed a five-year deal withUD Almería,recently relegated from the top flight.[14]The following 31 January, he scored a brace in a 2–1 home defeat of Zaragoza.[15]
Getafe
[edit]Chuli joinedGetafe CFon loan on 31 January 2017, withKarim Yodamoving in the opposite direction.[16]After contributing five goals (including a brace in a 4–0 home win over his former club Almería)[17]as his sideachieved top-tier promotion,he agreed to a permanent contract.[18]
On 12 December 2017, after making no league appearances duringthe campaign,Chuli was loaned to second-divisionCD Lugountil the following 30 June.[19]The following 14 August, he moved to fellow league teamExtremadura UDalso in a temporary deal.[20]
Later career
[edit]On 28 August 2019, Chuli returned to his hometown team of Recreativo de Huelva in the third tier. Despite arriving at a team tipped for promotion,[21]they suffered a double relegation to thefifth divisiondue to league restructuring in May 2021.[22]
Chuli signed forHércules CFof the newSegunda División RFEFin September 2021.[23]
