Sun TV Network Limitedis an IndianMedia conglomeratecompany headquartered inChennai, Tamil Nadu,India. It is a part ofSun Groupand is one of Asia's largest TV networks. Established on 14 April 1993 byKalanithi Maran,it owns a variety of television channels in multiple languages and radio stations in multiple languages. Owned channels[edit]

Sun TV owns 37 television channels across 7 different languages. 34 out of these 37 are in South Indian languages i.e.Tamil,Telugu,KannadaandMalayalam,as Sun TV network is a South-India based network. It expanded its reached towards other regions by launching GEC channels inMarathi,BengaliandHindilanguages.

Film production[edit]

Sun Picturesis a film production and distribution company established in 2000. It is a part of Sun TV Network. It has produced the TV filmSiragugalandRajinikanthstarrerEnthiran.It has distributed more than 20Tamil filmsstarting fromKadhalil Vizhunthen,and now producing many big budget movies.^[3]^[4]

Television production company[edit]

Sun Picturesis a television production company, which produces small budget movies forSun TVDirect TV Premier, after movie released in TV it will available only onSun NXTOTT App, also will be co-producing upcoming webseries for theSun NXTOTT Platform and this dept also co-produced the daily soaps which are to be telecasted in their channels.^[5]

OTT Platform[edit]

Sun NXTis a global online audio/video streaming (over-the-top) platform owned and operated by Sun TV Network. Has more than 4000 movie titles and more than 450 TV shows. Sun TV network usually takes the movies digital rights of the ones which are telecasted in its TVchannels.^[4]
