Cinemax Asiais a pan-Asian pay television channel as a part of theHBO Asianetwork. It features action, science-fiction, thriller, and adult comedy films.[1]Cinemax Asia is headquartered in Warner Bros. Discovery Asia office inSingapore.

Cinemax Asia (15 November 1996– 28 March 2009)[edit]
Cinemax Asia (which is the secondary channel of HBO Asia) was launched in 15 November 1996, it is a 24-hour movie channel which features movies inhorror,suspense,thrillerandaction.Cinemax Asia featuresThriller Cinemaxon Thursday,Action Cinemaxon Friday whileCinemax Superstarson weekend.
InMalaysia,Cinemax Asia was launched onAstroon channel 18 on April 23, 1998 at 7.45 pm replacing the ill-fatedMGM Goldchannel on April 6, 1998.
Max Asia (29 March 2009–30 September 2012)[edit]
In March 2009, Cinemax Asia was rebranded as "Max Asia" to appeal to male viewers. Max Asia's logo has been redesigned as well in line with the rebranding. Under registered permission HBO Network, Max Asia became an American movies channel.[clarification needed][2][3][4][5]
Cinemax Asia (1 October 2012–present)[edit]
On October 1, 2012, Max Asia reverted back to Cinemax Asia. Cinemax Asia has a yellow background color, but was replaced by a red color in 2016 with a more bolder approach to match its original American counterpart, with new action and thriller movies.
During October 2021, Cinemax Asia featuredhorror filmsin aMaximum Horrorpromotion.[6]
