Burt is a member of the National Theatre company,[3]and has played in many productions, including:London Road (musical),[3]The Miracle,and as Mrs. Milcote in the 2006 production ofHelen Edmundson'sCoram Boy.[3]Her other productions include:Vernon God Little,[4]Closer Than Ever,Company,Nine,Spread a Little Happiness,Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,andPal Joey.[3]

Her West End roles include Grizabella inCats(New London Theatre), Rose Vibert inAspects of Love(Prince of Wales Theatre), Celeste #2 inSunday in the Park with George(Royal National Theatre), Susan inCompany(Noël Coward Theatre), Fosca inPassion(Bridewell) and two new musicals by Howard Goodall:The Hired Man(London Astoria) andGirlfriends(Playhouse Theatre).[3]

Burt played the Witch in the 1998Donmar Warehouserevival ofInto the Woods.[3]Burt starred as theatre directorJoan Littlewoodin a new musicalMiss Littlewoodfor theRoyal Shakespeare Companyin summer 2018.[3]
