CoRoT-5b(previously namedCoRoT-Exo-5b)[2]is an extrasolar planet orbiting theF-typestarCoRoT-5.It was first reported by theCoRoTmission team in 2008 using thetransit method.[3] This planet has been confirmed by aDopplerfollow-up study.[4]

Properties and location

This planetary object is reported to be about half the mass ofJupiterbut slightly larger in terms of radius[5]at 0.467MJand 1.388RJ.[1]
