Colettais anextinctgenusofbasalprocolophonidparareptilefromEarly Triassic(Induanstage) deposits of EasternCape Province,South Africa.It is known from theholotypeGHG228, askullwith fragmentarylower jaws.It was collected on the farm Brakfontein 333 in the Cradock District. It was found in theKatberg Formationof theBeaufort Group(Karoo Basin) and referred to theLystrosaurusAssemblage Zone.It was first named by Christopher E. Gow in2000and thetype speciesisColetta seca.[1][2]

Colettawas one of the most basal procolophonids, showing similarities toowenettidssuch asOwenetta.Thegeneric nameColettareferences bothProcolophonandOwenetta,signifying its transitional nature. Thespecific nameC. secarefers to seca, a Latin word referring to any stabbing weaponry. This is based on large, fang-like teeth on itsvomerbones on the roof of the mouth.[1]
