Craig Chambershas been acomputer scientistatGooglesince 2007.[1]Prior to this, he was aProfessorin the department ofComputer Science and Engineeringat theUniversity of Washington.He received hisB.S.degree in Computer Science fromMITin 1986 and hisPh.D.in Computer Science fromStanfordin 1992. He is best known for the influential research languageSelf,which introduced prototypes as an alternative to classes, and code-splitting, a compilation technique that generates separate code paths for fast and general cases to speed execution of dynamically typed programs.[2]He was the PhD advisor of Google's current chief scientist,Jeff Dean.
