6-deoxyerythronolide B hydroxylaseis anActinomycetotaCytochrome P450enzymeoriginally fromSaccharopolyspora erythraea, catalyzes the 6S-hydroxylate of6-deoxyerythronolide B(6-DEB) toerythronolide B(EB) which is the first step of biosynthesis of themacrolideantibioticerythromycin.[1][2]This bacterial enzyme belongs to CYP familyCYP107,with the CYP SymbolCYP107A1.[3][4]
