Dąbrówka[a][dɔ̃bruvka]is amunicipal neighbourhood,and aCity Information Systemarea, inWarsaw,Poland,within the district ofUrsynów.[1][2]It is a residencial area, consisting of single-family housing.[3]
The oldest known records of Dąbrówka come from 1422, when it was a small farming community.[4]In 1898, in there were opened the Warszawa Dąbrówka Wąskotorowanarrow-gauge railwaystation operated by theGrójec Commuter Railway,and Stanisław Rostkowski'sbrick factory[5]In the 1910s, in the area Rostkowski also founded a small settlement for his employees.[6][7]Dąbrówka was incorporated into Warsaw in 1951.[8]
History
[edit]The oldest known records of Dąbrówka come from 1422, when it was a farming community, and a village inhabited by thepetty nobility.[4][9]
In 1898, there was opened the Warszawa Dąbrówka Wąskotorowanarrow-gauge railwaystation operated by theGrójec Commuter Railway.It was part of therailway linebetween stations ofWarszawa Mokotówand Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą. The station operated until 31 July 1971. It was located atPuławska Street,near current crossing with Jagielska Street.[5]
On 24 June 1898, businessperson Stanisław Rostkowski opened abrick factoryin Dąbrówka, which used nearby railway to export its products. In the 1910s, in the area Rostkowski also founded a small settlement for his employees, and a small primary school. The brickworks industry left behind numerousclay pitsin the area, where were flooded, forming ponds, including:Głęboki Staw,Krzewiny,Glinianki pod Lasem,andLipków Pond.[6][7]
On 14 May 1951, Dąbrówka was incorporated into the city ofWarsaw.[8]
In 1996 was established the municipal neighbourhood of Dąbrówka, as a subdivision of themunicipalityofWarsaw-Ursynów,which was replaced by the city district ofUrsynówin 2002. The neighbourhood status was reconfirmed in 2013. It is governed by an electedneighbourhood council.[1][10]In 1998, the district of Ursynów was subdivided into the areas of theCity Information System,with Dąbrówka being one of them, with the same boundaries as the municipal neighbourhood.[11][12]

Dąbrówka is a municipal neighbourhood, and an area of theCity Information System,located in the central south portion of the district ofUrsynów.It has total area of 1.74 km2(0.672 sq mi), and is governed by aneighbourhood council,consisting of 9 elected officials.[1][2][10]It is a residencial area consisting of single-family housing.[3]
In Dąbrówka are located several manmade lakes, those being:Głęboki Staw,Glinianki pod Lasem,Krzewiny,andLipków Pond.[7][13]
Location and administrative boundaries
[edit]Pyry is a municipal neighbourhood, and aCity Information Systemarea in Warsaw, located within the south-central portion of the district ofUrsynów.To the north, its boundary is determined by the Baletowa Street,Puławska Street, Puławskska Street,and the parcels adjusted to the southern part of Tukana Street; to the north-east, byKabaty Woods Nature Reserve;to the south by Kuropatwy Street, and the district border; and to the west, by Puławska Street, Karczunkowska Street, Sarabandy Street, Klarnecistów Street, and Farbiarska Street.[1][2]
The City Information System area bordersJeziorki Północneto the northwest,Pyryto the north, theKabaty Woods Nature Reserveto the east, municipalities ofLesznowola,Piaseczno,andKonstancin-JeziornainPiaseczno Countyto the south, andJeziorki Południoweto the south. The municipal neighbourhood of Dąbrówka additionally borders neighbourhoods ofPyry,andJeziorki.[1][2]
