David Leslie HawksworthCBE(born 1946 in Sheffield, UK) is a Britishmycologistandlichenologistcurrently with a professorship in theUniversidad Complutense de MadridinMadrid,Spainand also a Scientific Associate ofThe Natural History Museum in London.In 2002, he was honoured with anAcharius Medalby theInternational Association for Lichenology.[1]He marriedPatricia Wiltshire,a leadingforensic ecologistandpalynologistin 2009.[2]As of 2022,he is the Editor-in-Chief of the journalsIMA Fungus[3]andBiodiversity and Conservation.[4]
