D102is a state road connecting the mainland to island ofKrkand terminating at the southern tip of the island inBaška.The road is 48.3 km long.[1]
D102 is the main road route on the island of Krk. The northern terminus of the road is located nearKraljevica,at an intersection withD8 state route - the Adriatic Highway.The road includesKrk bridge.
In the northern part of the island, betweenOmišaljandMalinskait runs parallel to the shore at a distance of approximately 2 km. In that section, shortD103 state roadconnects D102 toRijeka Airport.Further to the south, D102 extends through the centre of the island to the city ofKrk.In that section, another state road,D104branches off to the southwest towardsValbiskaferry port. D102 bypasses the city of Krk, and proceeds southeast toBaška.
The road, as well as all other state roads in Croatia, is managed and maintained byHrvatske ceste,a state-owned company.[2]However, Krk Bridge is managed byAutocesta Rijeka - Zagrebcompany.[3]

Traffic is regularly counted and reported byHrvatske ceste,operator of the road.[4]Substantial variations between annual (AADT) and summer (ASDT) traffic volumes are attributed to the fact that the road serves as a connection toA6 motorwayandD8 state roadcarrying substantial tourist traffic.
