Daping Township(simplified Chinese:Đại bình hương;traditional Chinese:Đại bình hương;pinyin:Dàpíng Xiāng) is a ruraltownshipinShaoshan City,Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, China. It bordersShaoshan Townshipto the east,Shatian TownshipandLongdong Townshipto the south,Baitian Townto the west, andJinshi TownshipandLongtan Townshipto the north. As of the 2000 census[update]it had a population of 14,300 and an area of 32 square kilometres (12 sq mi).
Administrative division
[edit]The township is divided into nine villages: Xiangshao Village (Tương thiều thôn), Shaoxin Village (Thiều tân thôn), Shaofeng Village (Thiều phong thôn), Huangtian Village (Hoàng điền thôn), Meihua Village (Mai hoa thôn), Linjiawan Village (Lâm gia loan thôn), Xinlian Village (Tân liên thôn), Daping Village (Đại bình thôn), and Zhuzan Village (Trúc tán thôn).[1]
Economy
[edit]Rice, sweet potato, pig, and soybean are important to the economy.
Education
[edit]There are seven primary schools and one public junior high school in the town.
