David Andrew Brydon(born 27 June 1996)[1][2]is a New Zealandfield hockeyplayer,[3]who plays as a defender.[4]

Personal life[edit]

David Brydon was born inChristchurch,New Zealand.[5]He currently lives inAuckland,New Zealand.

National teams[edit]

Under-21[edit]

Brydon debuted for theNew Zealand U-21team in 2016 at theJunior Oceania Cupon theGold Coast.[6]Later that year he went on to represent the team at theSultan of Johor CupinJohor Bahruand theFIH Junior World CupinLucknow.[7][8]

Black Sticks[edit]

Following his debut with the junior national team, David Brydon made his senior international debut with theBlack Sticksin late 2016, at theTrans–Tasman TrophyinAuckland.[9][6]

In 2017, Brydon won his first medal with the national team at theOceania CupinSydney,winning a silver medal.[citation needed]

Brydon was also a member of the Black Sticks in theinaugural seasonof theFIH Pro League.[10]
