David Pittman(born 23 February 1969) is a formerAustralian rules footballerwho played for theAdelaide Crowsin theAustralian Football League(AFL).
Originally fromSouth Australian National Football League(SANFL) clubNorwood,Pittman was drafted by Essendon in the1989 VFL Draftbut played no games for them. He was traded to Adelaide in 1991 and made his AFL debut with Adelaide in1992,playing as aruckman.
Pittman is sometimes remembered for an incident early in the1997 AFL seasonwhere Adelaide coachMalcolm Blightlabelled his effort "pathetic" after a game at theMCGinMelbourne.The 1997 season turned out to be one of Pittman's most successful as he moved betweencentre half-backand the ruck playing an important part in the Crows'premiership side that year.[1]
Pittman also played in the1998 AFL Grand Final,winning his second premiership. At the end of1999,Pittman retired having played 131 games for 34 goals and 5 games for South Australia.[1]
