Diplomatic relations betweenDenmarkandSloveniawere established on 20 January 1992.[1]Denmark has a non resident ambassador inBudapest.[2]Slovenia has an embassy inCopenhagen.[3]Both countries are members of theEuropean UnionandNATO.There have been few ties between Denmark and Slovenia before the independence of Slovenia.[4]

High level visits[edit]

In 2001,Queen Margrethe IIvisited Slovenia.[citation needed]In 2002, Danish prime ministerAnders Fogh Rasmussenvisited Slovenia, to supportSlovenia in the European Union.[5]
