Dennis vanEngelsdorpis an associate professor[1]of entomology at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is the Chief Scientist for the Bee Informed Partnership and has been involved in a number of studies aimed at understandingcolony collapse disorder.[2][3][4]VanEngelsdorp was formerly the chief apiarist for Pennsylvania.[5]He was married toH. G. Carrillo,a professor of English atGeorge Washington University,until Carrillo's death ofCOVID-19in April 2020.[6][7]
