Dhamua railway stationis aKolkata Suburban Railway Stationon theDiamond Harbour Branch line.It is under the jurisdiction of theSealdah railway divisionin theEastern Railway zoneof theIndian Railways.Dhamua railway station is situated beside Sherpur-Dhamua Road,Dhamua,South 24 Parganasdistrict in theIndianstateofWest Bengal.[1][2]

History

In 1883, theEastern Bengal Railwayconstructed a1,676 mm(5 ft 6 in)-widebroad-gauge railwayfromBaruipur JunctiontoDiamond Harbourvia Dhamua.[3]

Electrification

Electrification fromBaruipur JunctiontoDiamond Harbourincluding Dhamua was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 1965–66.[4]

Station complex

The platform is very much well sheltered. The station possesses many facilities including water and sanitation. There is a proper approach road to this station.[5]
