Dharmendra Yadav(born 3 February 1979) is an Indian politician fromUttar Pradesh.He was a Member of Parliament (MP) in the16th Lok SabharepresentingBadaunconstituency asSamajwadi Partycandidate.[1][2]

Early life and education[edit]

Dharmendra Yadav was born inSaifai,Etawahon 3 February 1979 to Abhay Ram Yadav and Jay Devi.

His father Abhay Ram Yadav is the younger brother ofMulayam Singh Yadavand elder brother ofShivpal Singh Yadav.Samajwadi Party's PresidentAkhilesh Yadavis Dharmendra's cousin.

He received aBachelor of Lawsdegree and aMAdegree in political Science from theUniversity of Allahabad.

Family[edit]

He has one brother Anurag Yadav and two sisters Sandhya Yadav and Sheela Yadav. Sheela's son Rahul Yadav is married to Dr Isha Yadav, daughter ofSadhu Yadav.[3]

His brother Anurag Yadav contested and lost the 2017 UP assembly election fromSarojini Nagar Assembly constituency.[4]

Personal life[edit]

Dharmendra Yadav married Neelam Yadav on 12 February 2010.[1][5]He has three criminal cases and as of 2019 and assets worth Rs 12 crore.[6]

  1. He was an active participant in student politics in his university days. Mr Yadav became the block president of Samajwadi Party in Saifai in 2003.

He was elected to the14th Lok Sabhain 2004 fromMainpuriand re-elected to the15th Lok Sabhain 2009 and16th Lok Sabhain 2014 fromBadaun.He has been a member of the standing committees on defence, rural development, information technology and agriculture.[1]

He lost the 2019Lok Sabhaelection from Badaun by around 18,000 votes. In June 2022Azamgarhby-poll he lost the election by around 8,600 votes.

He has been elected to the18th Lok Sabhain 2024 fromAzamgarhby defeating rival over 1,60,000 votes.
