Dhiren Shakya(Nepali:धिरेन शाक्य; born 25 February 1971) is a Nepalese actor,[1]who has appeared in Nepali feature films and music videos.[2][3]
Shakya starred in more than a hundred Nepali films in the 1990s and early 2000s.[4]He has received a number of awards throughout his career includingNational Film Awardsfor best actor.[5]He also acted in more than 70 music videos.[4]
His successful films includeKrodh,Jibandaan,Chino,Simana,Desh Paradesh,Ajambari Maya,Arjun,InsaafandJanam Janam.[2]
Personal life[edit]
He is fromPalpa districtin western Nepal.[6]He has two daughters. He hails from a military family and had himselfjoined the British army,only to leave it within six months. His father was in anIndian Gurkha regiment.His older daughter was undergoing army officer's training as of February 2017.[7]

Shakya had a cameo appearance in the 2016NewarifilmTuyumati.[8]He also appeared inYatra: A musical vlog.[9][10]He then appeared inPassword(2019).[11]
