Chemical structure ofetravirine(Intelence)

Diarylpyrimidines(DAPY) anddiaryltriazines(DATA) are two closely related classes of molecules resembling thepyrimidinenucleotidesfound inDNA.They show great potency in inhibiting the activity ofHIVreverse transcriptase.[1][2]Several compounds in this class arenon-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitorsused clinically in the treatment of HIV/AIDS,[3][4]notablyetravirine[5]andrilpivirine.[6]
