Dick Long

Richard John Long(4 May 1924 – 28 July 2021) was an Australian politician.

Long was born inLeongatha,Victoria,to John Adrian Long and Doris May. He served inWorld War IIas anRAAFpilot from 1943 to 1946, after which he received hisBachelor of LawfromMelbourne Universityand became a solicitor. From 1950, he worked for the firm of Gray, Friend & Long inWarragul.A member of theLiberal Party,he was elected to theVictorian Legislative CouncilforGippslandin 1973. He served until 1992, when he retired. He died on 28 July 2021 at the age of 97.[1]
