Didymochlaenais a genus offerns.In thePteridophyte Phylogeny Groupclassification of 2016 (PPG I), it is the only genus in the familyDidymochlaenaceae.[2]Alternatively, the family may be placed in a very broadly defined familyPolypodiaceaesensu latoas the subfamilyDidymochlaenoideae.[3]

Description

Members of this genus areterrestrial,evergreen plantsgrowing 0.8–3 m (2 ft 7 in – 9 ft 10 in) tall. Thefrondsarise from upright, scalyrhizomes.The leaves arebipinnateandimparipinnate.[4]
