TheDistrict of New Mexicowas a military district of theUnited States Armyin theTerritory of New Mexicothat existed from 1865 to 1890.[1]TheDistrict of Arizonaand the District of New Mexico replaced theDepartment of New Mexicofrom June 27, 1865.

The District of New Mexico was subordinate to theMilitary Division of the Pacificfrom June 27, 1865 - July 1866. It was subordinate to theDepartment of the Missouri,from 1866 to 1890.[2]
