Born inŠid,he played withOsijek,Dinamo ZagrebandPrištinain theYugoslav First Leagueduring the 1980s, and in 1990 he moved to Portugal where he played withUniãoin thePrimeira Ligauntil 1996.[1]

His sonIvan,born in 1999, is also a footballer.[2]
