TheDravinja(German:Drann,pronounced[dʁan] ) is the largesttributaryof theDrava RiverinSlovenia.It is 73 kilometres (45 mi) long.[1]Its source is on thePohorjeMassif southwest of MountRoglaabout 1,150 m above sea level. The river passesZreče,the town ofSlovenske Konjice,the ruins of the fort atZbelovo,Poljčane,Makole,ŠtatenbergCastle,Majšperk,andVidem pri Ptuju,where it merges with theDrava.Its main tributary is thePolskavaRiver.
The Dravinja is the best-preserved lowland river in Slovenia and has been protected as part of the EuropeanNatura 2000network. In addition, the river is distinguished by the Pečnik Mill, which has been proclaimed an ethnological monument.
