Edelstal(Hungarian:Nemesvölgy) is a township in the district ofNeusiedl am See,in theAustrianstate ofBurgenland.

History

There was a 9th-centuryAvarsettlement on its borders, it is near the Roman fortressCarnuntum.

The town was destroyed in 1529 and 1683 by theTurks.

Before theTreaty of Trianonit was in theRajkadistrict (Hungarian: Jaras) ofMosoncounty (comitatus) in theKingdom of Hungary.
