Edward Ferdinand Jacob Lindberg(November 9, 1886 – February 16, 1978) was an American Olympicathlete,winner of the gold medal in 4 × 400 mrelayat the1912 Summer Olympics.He was born inCherokee, Iowaand died inHighland Park, Illinois.[1]

Lindberg won theAAUchampionships in 440ydin 1909 and 1911. At theStockholmOlympics,Lindberg won the bronze medal in 400 m and ran the second leg in the American 4 × 400 m relay team, which won the gold medal with a newworld recordof 3.16.6. At the same Olympics he competed in thebaseball eventwhich was held asdemonstration sport.[2]
