Ejutla de Crespois acityand amunicipalityof the same name, in the central valleys of theMexican stateofOaxaca. It is part of theEjutla Districtin the south of theValles Centrales Region.
"Ejutla" is from theNahuatlexotlandtla,meaning "place of abundant green beans"; "Crespo" is for Fr.Manuel Sabino Crespo,who fought alongsideMorelosin theWar of Independenceand was executed on 19 October 1815 and in whose memory the State Congress decreed a change in the name fromVilla de EjutlatoHeroica Ciudad de Ejutla de Crespoon 11 December 1885.[1]
