Aspleyis anelectoral districtof theLegislative Assemblyin the Australian state ofQueensland.[1]

The district is located in the north-eastern residential suburbs ofBrisbane,encompassingAspley,Bridgeman DownsandCarseldine,as well as parts ofMcDowall,Chermside West,LawntonandZillmere.It is now wholly within the local government area ofBrisbane City Council,following the redistribution prior to the 2009 election.

The electorate was created at the 1959 redistribution from the former electorate ofChermside.Aspley was a safeLiberalseat until the collapse of theNational-Liberal coalitionin Queensland in 1983, when first-term Liberal memberBeryce Nelsonlost the seat to theNationals'Brian Cahilla former local newsreader. Nelson then joined the Nationals and was subsequently preselected to contest Aspley at the 1986 election. She won and held the seat for that term and then was defeated by the Liberals'John Gossin 1989. Goss was defeated byLabor'sBonny Barryin Labor's landslide victory at the2001 state election.Barry was herself defeated after three terms byTracy Davisof theLiberal National Partyat the2009 state election.Davis was defeated at the2017 state electionbyLabor'sBart Mellish.
