Electoral district of Namoi

Namoi,known asThe Namoiuntil 1910 was anelectoral districtof theLegislative Assemblyin theAustralianstate ofNew South Wales,created in 1880 and named after theNamoi River.It elected two members between 1891 and 1894. In 1894 it was abolished and partly replaced byNarrabri.In 1904, with the downsizing of the Legislative Assembly afterFederation,Namoi was recreated, replacing Narrabri and part ofGunnedah.Between 1920 and 1927, it largely absorbedGwydirandTamworthand elected three members underproportional representation.In 1927, it was replaced by single-member electorates, mainly Namoi, Tamworth andBarwon.Namoi was abolished in 1950.[1][2][3]
