Eli Bushis an Americanfilmandtheatreproducer and former executive atScott RudinProductions.[1]He is best known for producing the filmLady Bird,for which he co-won the 2018Golden Globe Award for Best Picture – Musical or Comedyand was co-nominated for theAcademy Award for Best Picture.[2] He is married toMarie Louise Khondjidaughter ofDarius Khondjisince October 2022.
Biography
[edit]Bush graduated fromColumbia CollegeofColumbia Universityin 2009.[3]
During his tenure working forScott RudinProductions, he and Rudin worked on a number of critically acclaimed movies, includingUncut Gems(2019),Annihilation(2018),Eighth Grade(2018),Lady Bird(2017), andThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo(2011).[4]On Broadway, he won fourTony Awards for Best Revival of a Play:forDeath of a Salesman(2012),A Raisin in the Sun(2014),Skylight(2015), andA View from the Bridge(2016).[5]He also won theTony Award for Best Musicalin 2017 forHello, Dolly!as well as theTony Award for Best Playin 2016 for producingThe Humans.[5]He was nominated for the 2017Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Programfor co-producingSchool of Rock.[6]
In April 2021 stories inThe Hollywood Reporterand "Vulture"alleged numerous instances of abuse from Rudin towards employees, including physical violence. Following the allegations, Rudin announced that he would be" stepping back "to" work on personal issues I should have long ago. "[7][8]The Vulture story reported that Bush had left Scott Rudin Productions the previous week.
In 2022 Bush executive producedJerrod Carmichael's stand-up special Rothaniel onHBO.[9]The special was subsequently nominated for a PrimetimeEmmyfor Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special and Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special.[10]
In October 2022 Bush producedKate Berlant’s one-woman show at theConnelly Theater.It was directed byBo Burnhamand marked Berlant's return after more than a decade.[11]
