Enrico Millo(12 February 1865 – 14 June 1930) was an Italianadmiraland politician. As a naval commander, he led a raid against theOttoman Navyin theDardanellesin 1912.[1]

Life

Born inChiavari,Province of Genoa,he was namedguardiamarinain the ItalianRegia Marina( "Royal Navy" ) in 1884. He participated as a navy officer in the campaigns ofKingdom of Italyin theHorn of Africa,and with the rank ofcapitano di vascello(ship-of-the-line captain) he led a raid by five Italiantorpedo boatsagainst theOttomanfleet on 18 July 1912 during theItalo-Turkish War.After the expedition, he was named asenator of the Kingdom of ItalybyKingVictor Emmanuel III.Later he wasMinister of the Navyin theFourth GiolittiandFirst Salandra governments.

DuringWorld War Ihe held a command post[cleanup needed]in theRegia Marina,a branch of the Italian military. He was named military governor ofDalmatiafollowing World War I.[2]From 1923 to 1925 he held a managerial position in the company that owned thePort of Naples.

He died inRomein 1930.
