Erik Charles Nielsen(born May 8, 1981) is an American actor and comedian.
Early life
[edit]Nielsen was born inWest Sayville,New York. He is ofDanishdescent. Nielsen graduated fromPalm Bay High Schoolin 1999. While attendingBoston University,he was named the funniest comedian on campus.[1]After continuing to hone his act at The Comedy Studio inCambridge,Massachusetts, he moved toLos Angeles,California to do a Ph.D. program at theUniversity of California, Los Angeles,but withdrew before completion. Turning to comedy full-time, he got his first big break at the 2007U.S. Comedy Arts FestivalinAspen,Colorado.[2]
Career
[edit]Nielsen is best known for his recurring role as Garrett Lambert in the television comedy seriesCommunityfrom 2009 to 2015.[3]His other acting credits includeBad Milo(2013) and the pilot episode of IFC'sMaron.He also starred inErik the Librarian,[4]a web series created byBrent Forrester.[5]
Nielsen has appeared onJust for Laughs,Conan,and onHBO Canada's stand-up seriesFunny as Hell.
On December 10, 2014 he appeared onKen Reid's TV Guidance Counselor Podcast.
