Esau Mann(born 11 May 1971) is a Tongan former professionalrugby leaguefootballer who representedTongaat the2000 World Cup.He is a cousin and brother of fellow internationalsDuaneandGeorge Mann.

Playing career

With the launch of theLion Red Cupin 1994 Mann joined theCounties Manukau Heroes.He was part of the side that lost the1994 Lion Red Cupgrand final. Mann played in 73 Lion Red Cup matches over the three seasons of the competition, a record.[1]

With the demise of the competition in 1997 Mann joined theMangere East Hawks.[2]

Mann also had a stint with the Narrandera Lizards in Group 20 Rugby League.[citation needed]

In 1999 Mann played for Auckland South in the national provincial championship.[3]

With the inaugural season of theBartercard Cupin 2000, Mann joined theOtahuhu Leopardswho lost the grand final.[4]

Mann then spent 2001 in theCanberra Cupcompetition, playing for the West Belconnen Warriors.[citation needed]

Representative career

Mann played forTongafor over eight years, including at the1992 Pacific Cupand at the2000 World Cup.[2][5]

Mann captained theNew Zealand Residentsin 2000.[6]
