Eugene Cordero(born July 18, 1978)[1]is an American actor, writer, and comedian. Frequently appearing in comedic roles, he has been featured as a series regular on the comediesOther Space(2015),Bajillion Dollar Propertie$(2017–2019),Tacoma FD(2019–2021), andStar Trek: Lower Decks(2020–present). His television appearances also include recurring roles onHouse of Lies(2014),Crazy Ex-Girlfriend(2015–2017),The Good Place(2016–2020), andWrecked(2018). Outside of comedy, he has been a series regular on theDisney+seriesLokisince 2021. Cordero's film roles include the comedy-dramaThe Kings of Summer(2013), the monster adventureKong: Skull Island(2017), and the crime dramaThe Mule(2018).
Early life and education
[edit]Cordero grew up in the northern suburbs of Detroit.[2]He graduated fromBrother Rice High Schoolin 1996.[3]He later moved to New York City to attendMarymount Manhattan College.[2]
He began improv withChicago City Limitsbefore taking classes atUpright Citizens Brigadeand performing as a member ofASSSSCAT.[2][4][5]

[edit]Cordero has worked largely in comedy, appearing in such televisions shows asDrunk History,Kroll Show,Silicon Valley,The Office,Brooklyn Nine-Nine,Bajillion Dollar Propertie$,Veep,The Good Place,andCrazy Ex-Girlfriend.[6]Cordero landed a guest role onHawaii Five-0after making a sketch about the show's lack of diversity.[2]Cordero was one of the main characters inYahoo!'s 2015 sci-fi comedy seriesOther Space.In 2019, Cordero began a starring role onTacoma FDand made an appearance onThe Mandalorian.In April 2021, it was announced that he would be joining the cast of theDisney+seriesLoki.[7][8]Inseason 2,it was revealed that his character Casey was a temporal variant of bank robber and Alcatraz escapeeFrank Morris.
Beginning in 2013, Cordero voiced Jamie in theCartoon NetworkseriesSteven Universe.He also voiced Sawyer D. and Brian onBob's Burgers.He voices Ensign Sam Rutherford onStar Trek: Lower Decks,which premiered in 2020.
Cordero has appeared in films such asMike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,Kong: Skull Island,The Kings of Summer,andGhostbusters.[9][6]

Personal life
[edit]Cordero is of Filipino descent.[5]He lives in Los Angeles.[6]Cordero was a high school classmates of comedianAndy JuettatBrother Rice High Schoolin Michigan, with whom he later collaborated atSexpot Comedy.[12]Cordero is married to comedy writer Tricia McAlpin.[13]They have two children.[14]
