Ezio Gamba(born 2 December 1958) is a retiredjudokafrom Italy, who represented his native country at four consecutiveOlympic Games(1976,1980,1984and1988). Gamba claimed the gold medal in themen's lightweight division(–71 kg) in1980by defeating Great Britain'sNeil Adams.
Biography[edit]
Four years later inLos Angeles, California,Gamba won the silver medal in the same weight division, after being defeated by South Korea'sAhn Byeong-Keunin the final.
He is the current trainer of the Russian National Judo team.[1]In 2013, for his great contribution to the development of sports in the Russian Federation Gamba was awarded the RussianOrder of Friendship.[2]
In early January 2016, he was grantedRussian citizenshipbyPresident of RussiaVladimir Putin.[3]
