"Fate"is apopularsong from the 1953musicalKismetand is credited toRobert WrightandGeorge Forrest.Like all the music in that show, the melody was in fact based on music composed byAlexander Borodin,in this case, Borodin'sSymphony No.2.It was introduced on Broadway byAlfred Drake.[1]Howard Keelperformed the song in thefilm version.
