Forkeris anunincorporated communityin southernLinn County,in theU.S. stateofMissouri.[1]

The community is onMissouri Route 130one mile north of the Linn-Charitoncounty line. TheChicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroadwent past the east side of the community.[2]

History

According to tradition, Forker was the name of a railroad official.[3]A variant name was "Boomer Post Office".[1]A post office called Boomer was established in 1883, and remained in operation until 1953.[4]
