The terrestrial TV service was founded in October 2011 by MultiChoice. It features news channels such as theBBC,Al JazeeraandCNN,sports channels such asSuperSportandESPN,local & international content fromAfrica MagicandM-Net Moviesamong others, includingfree-to-airchannels. It is currently available in countries such asNigeria,Kenya,Namibia,Ghana,Malawi,Zambia,MozambiqueandUganda.[5][6][7][8]The current director general of the company isJohn Ugbe.[9]

In Kenya, one can use the GOtv Paybill Number423655to pay for their subscription viaM-Pesa[10]Make sure your GOtv decoder is turned on before making payment.

As of 2024, Canal+ retains over 40% of the pay-tv company with them seeking to acquire remaining shares as dictated by law.[11]
