Georgius Perpignani(1555–1621) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served asBishop of Canea(1619–1621) andBishop of Tinos(1594–1619).[1][2][3]
Biography
[edit]Georgius Perpignani was born inCretein 1555.[1] On 14 November 1594, he was appointed during the papacy ofPope Clement VIIIasBishop of Tinos.[1] On 20 November 1594, he was consecrated bishop byGianfrancesco Morosini,Bishop of Brescia,withFlaminio Filonardi,Bishop of Aquino,andLeonard Abel,Titular BishopofSidon,serving as co-consecrators.[1] On 15 July 1619, he was appointed during the papacy ofPope Paul VasBishop of Canea.[1] He served as Bishop of Canea until his death in 1621.[1] While bishop, he was the principal co-consecrator ofJuan Orozco Covarrubias y Leiva,Bishop of Agrigento.[1]
