Giljais a village inGjesdalmunicipality inRogalandcounty,Norway.The village is located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southeast of the village ofDirdalin the Dirdalen valley. TheFrafjord Tunnelconnects Gilja with the village ofFrafjord,located in the next valley on the other side of the mountains.[3]
The 0.31-square-kilometre (77-acre) village has a population (2019) of 383 and apopulation densityof 1,235 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,200/sq mi).[1]The village is the site of a window factory which employs many of the local inhabitants.[3]
