Glenn Alexandria Wood(July 18, 1925 – January 18, 2019) was an AmericanNASCARdriver fromStuart, Virginia.
Early life
[edit]He and brotherLeonard Woodco-founded the legendaryWood Brothers Racingteam in1953,and won four races over an eleven-year racing career. In 1998, he was named one ofNASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers.[2]In 2006, Wood was inducted into theVirginia Sports Hall of Fame;he was also inducted into theNASCAR Hall of Famein 2012.[3]
Wood died on January 18, 2019, after a battle with illnesses.[4]
