Gliese 674 bis anextrasolar planetapproximately 15light yearsaway in theconstellationofAra.This planet orbits tightly aroundGliese 674.It is a sub-Neptune-or-Uranus-mass planet eithergaseousorrocky.It orbits as close as 0.039AUfrom the star and takes only 4.6938daysto orbit. This planet has a similareccentricitytoMercury(e=0.2). The discovery of the planet was announced on January 7, 2007 by using theHARPSspectrographmounted on theESO's 3.6 metertelescopeatLa Silla,Chile.[1]
