Guy Le Strange(24 July 1854 – 24 December 1933) was a BritishOrientalistnoted especially for his work in the field of thehistorical geographyof the pre-modernMiddle Easternand Eastern Islamic lands, and his editing of Persian geographical texts.[1]He was a scholar of thePersian,Arabic,andSpanishlanguages.

Le Strange was one of the original trustees of theE. J. W. GibbMemorial, an organisation which since 1905 has published theGibb Memorial Series.

He was born inBrussels,Belgium,[2]the youngest child ofHenry L'Estrange Styleman Le StrangeofHunstanton Hall,Norfolk,educated atClifton College[3]and died inCambridge.[4]
