Hamilcar(Punic:𐤇𐤌𐤋𐤊,ḤMLK,[1][2]or𐤇𐤌𐤋𐤒𐤓𐤕,ḤMLQRT,[citation needed]"Melqartis Gracious ";[2]Greek:Ἁμίλκας,Hamílkas;[2]) was a commonCarthaginianmasculinegiven name.The name was particularly common among the ruling families ofancient Carthage.
