Tālesh(Persian:تالش)[a]is a city in theCentral DistrictofTalesh County,Gilanprovince,Iran,serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4]

[edit]The Iranian dialect of Tālesh is a dialect ofTalyshlanguage.[5]The Iranian disability activist and artistMitra Farazandehwas born in this town.[6]

Population
[edit]At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 41,486 in 10,688 households.[8]The following census in 2011 counted 52,344 people in 14,984 households.[9]The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 54,178 people in 16,832 households.[2]
